I used to raise these gentle giants. Their poop is the size of land mines. WOW! Let's export some of them to Afghanistan! Great Danes make Danish pastries.

He reminds me of "Beer Wagon", an English Bull Mastiff that a fellow Vietnam veteran used to bring to parades. BW had his own set of saddlebags, which were watertight, and loaded with ice, and -- you guessed it -- beer for the refreshment of the marchers. But BW "only" weighted about 180 #.

I'll bet that NOBODY will jump into HIS yard!

I knew a SFC on Okinawa who had two of these things, and the male must have run about 220 lbs. They had been having trouble with "stealy boys" jumping walls and stealing in his neighborhood until he got his dogs shipped over. He said the dogs almost never barked, but it was the screams of sheer terror that alerted him to the fact he had a potential burgler in his back yard. He'd call the cops and go outside to find the Okinawian backed against the wall, with the dogs just standing there looking at him. He said they were very mild-mannered dogs that almost never barked or growled at anybody.
