I just want to grind my axe on this topic heading: I get REALLY IRRITATED when the local news shows live pictures of NO TRAFFIC on Sunday morning- and the voice over says, "...traffic is light..." !

The media became irrelevant because of the observation you've made.

Why do they do traffic reports on TV? Who has a TV in their car, and what traffic report hasn't changed by the time you get into your car and go somewhere?

Ever think about why they do that?

It's because they can't get sued!. The truth is, the media has created a lawsuit-happy culture that has turned on them. Ever wonder why they do so much reporting on the weather, and why they literally count snowflakes? It's because they can't get sued.

It doesn't mean people won't try to sue them, it means people likely won't succeed...
