I know who the man is, however your apparent lemming-like approach to every word that proceedeth out of his mouth draws a shadow on your ability to defend what you said earlier. I just checked and Nat's article apparently hasn't been posted yet in the FR forum. Why don't you post it and let's start discussing the specifics of what Nat's concerns are with the USA PATRIOT Act. Of course, the brunt of his analysis came with the assistance of the beloved ACLU, so this could be a fun exercise.

In my mind your little link to his article in no way justifies the idiotic statement you made at the start of this thread. I'm not immune to making the same type of stupid statement you did, but at least when I make them I apologize and move on.

Does she have any adult children? I will bet my first SS check that one of her kids runs for congress on an anti-smoking platform if she dies. Wasnt her husband shot and killed by that guy on the subway? Did she pass one bill that would have stopped him?

Ooops! I posted before thinking again! I was thinking of carolyn maloney from NY getting elected on her husbands corpse, just lik carnahan. Sarah Brady is the one that parades her husband around in a wheel chair looking for cameras.

"How do you smoke a watermelon???"

First, you hang it from a very stout meat-hook...

" while she could not, or would not, control her own smoking"

My mom absolutely could not control her smoking. It made me think nicotine is as addictive as heroin.

Don't anybody gloat. Don't do it. She is politically totally 100% wrong, but lets draw the line there.

'kay?

I mean, I personally am so tempted, but if *I* can control it......then YOU can.....

Laz, you old paragon of virtue, you! ;-)

Y'know, this is not exactly a new topic. It has been months since Brady's cancer was initially reported. I suppose many are hearing about it for the first time, though.

I saw the Shriveled One being interviewed by Matt Lauer this morning. It seems that she'll use the subject of her own illness as a reason to get in front of the television cameras. There she was, one moment discussing her current radiation treatments - and the next moment, smirking as she talked about a party celebrating the anniversary of the Brady Law's passage.

It was SHE who was doing the gloating, even with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

Tell ya' what: I'll forego the gloating and instead limit myself to one small silent wish (that she step off the curb without looking and be dispatched by a runaway bus - without excess suffering). Bear in mind, that's far more humane than anything that she would wish on us. Besides, if that happened, we could simply say "Thank God and Greyhound she's gone!" :^)

I wish here a complete recovery. Maybe she will take a good cold hard look at life and sort out the things that are really important. Who knows, she might even take up target shooting.

I could go for that. We could all silently wish her to be spared the horrible pain that lung cancer is renowned for.
