Suggestion, if push comes to shove, I wouldn't have any qualms against a small monthly membership fee.
Being a "real" anti-freeper, means that you've sworn an oath on you mother's grave, to hate FR, Jim Robinson, and anyone associate with them, and that you would gladly cut off your left testicle to bring about their demise.
They really aren't too tightly wrapped.
Like I said... you're a big boy.
Just keep your eyes open.
I have read FR for a couple of years, and just began posting a month or so back. I have never given any thought to your expenses and beg forgiveness, $50 check in the mail today, and I will do the same every quarter.

Jim, I think you should post a list of past disruptors and let us rules-abiding FReepers vote on who should be let back in on a temporary probationary period basis. Maybe you could code 'probationary screenames' to appear in red - kind of like The Scarlet Letter.
What - is this website only for registered card carying Republicans who contribute X amount of $ to the GOP? Variety of opinion and the discourse thereof is what makes this website so wonderful.

Keep the site going as long as you can. Many of us look to FreeRepublic as our main source of news and thoughtful commentary.
Most of the people on FR need to get a life and realize FR is not their Mommy, saviour, baby sitter, nanny, big brother, playground, locker room or massage parlor. If I missed a few of you, sorry, is early in the morning.
Now you all know in which section you belong, dont ask for directions. For you that have not a clue, Romper Room for those that need ritalin is two doors down. Temper tantrums and bad language can be vented there. Have a nice day.

Have a fundraiser auction thread where FReepers can donate funds with an earmark to temporarilly ban certain FReepers for a week. It's all done in fun and FReepers can even donate a counter bid to bail themselves out.
FReepers could even pool together donations to temp ban certain obnoxious FReepers. :)
Those generating the largest donations for temporary banning will become celebrities in FReeper lore. Hopefully no one will get too bent out of joint on being selected as a FReeper martyr for a week. :)
As stated in that very same post, I said that I trust JR and BADJOE's judgement, and I very much want to help and see FR continue, but every freepathon people ask very pointed questions to which my response is, "Trust us".
I am a big boy and would not help raise money if I had large doubts about how the budget was handled, on the contrary, I defend it constantly, but I also empathize with chuck allen's questions and find them in no way worthing of his being banned.
Have you ever considered taking paid ads or leaving non-profit status? I suspect that the types of people who enjoy FreeRepublic also appreciate a profit motive and would support your attempt to make money for your pocket.
I bet ads would sell well because you have a very particular demographic that I'm sure advertisers would like to target. Heck, for a site like this, I'd even put up with pop-up ads.
