VAnity threads don't bother me at all! Some of them are entertaining, funny, and some are even thought provoking!

Sorry, Jim...you're going to find that most of us will stand right by your side, and we'll do WHATEVER IT TAKES to keep FR going. As a society, we pay a monthly fee for cable; a monthly fee for newspapers and magazines; and L-rd only knows what we spend on books! Jim has graciously allowed us to access THE MOST INFORMATIVE NEWS FORUM on planet Earth free of charge! A small percentage of the posters go above and beyond the call of duty to support FR monthly and quarterly because they love it here! Others of us here are 'poor as church mice', but we still dig deep to help keep this site going. Freedom is NOT free! Besides, if Free Republic goes down, who's going to keep an eye on Hillary? :-)

P.S.S. NEVER use advertisers. They would clutter the site and detract from our unbiased, and sometimes entertainingly harsh, opinions. I disagree. There are ways to make advertising unobtrusive, and it is never necessary to kow-tow to advertisers.
There is something basically immoral about the expression, "non-profit." If FR has a value, which I believe it does, there will be no problem making it a "for profit" operation. That is the essence of free enterprise, which is the heart of a free repbulic.

The major pundits and talking heads cruise this site often. RINO was a term coined here and now you hear it on FOX. Rush has used terms straight off this site and has even got into good natured fights with it. SORE LOSERMAN was born here and is now an American Icon. This site kept the light of truth burning during the dark night of corruption and cover-ups of the Clinton regime. It's very ability to reveal the truth and expose Media outlets ( like the LA Times and The Washington Post ) as unofficial mouthpieces of the RAT party has made these powerful forces of evil aware of its existence along with their desire to shut it down.
It would be a shame to let such evil win.

If you wanted to make FR a for-profit site, and succeeded, that would be the American Way. The premise is all wrong here. Let them whine at your success and great popularity.
Making FR a fee based non-profit membership service will limit disruptive hit-and-run members and save some bandwidth for those who value it the most. That, too, would be a fine form of organization. Just choose something that is self-sustaining and pleases you, and is properly disclosed, to the extent the law requires. Period. You have no moral obligation to do more that I can see.

Please keep FP alive. I'm addicted; I'll ante up.

They can kiss my ass. All anti-freepers have no life besides talking about this site day after day. They have no clue what it takes to run a business.
This is a great site and their spew is like watching 3 and 4 year olds. Like watching the rats nest. LOL
Keep up the good work. You are doing something right if they hate this site so much.
Yep just checked and this is a hot topic at their rats nest!

...you don't like what you see, you are not forced to remain to view it. If people don't like this site, there are other sites to go to. If people don't like certain threads, no one is forced to read them.
Hear hear!!! I think most Freepers understand this, as it is only common sense. :)
To: LJLucido
That's a very good idea. I have sent a lot of people over to FR, most of whom are slowly becoming addicted. =) However, it took them time to become aquiainted with the site. Prayers for the preservation of your wonderful enterprise.

I applaud your efforts to address all of the issues confronting you. Well done.
Harry, care to comment?

Please don't let the angry folks get to you.
There's never been a website so great.
Keep it up, but my donation has to wait until after Christmas, if that's OK.
I have kids. They want EVERYTHING for Christmas!
I'm broke until 1/1/02!

OK, well........this is definitely what is known in the vernacular as a "no-brainer".
Now.......about chuck allen.......are you serious? Chuck???????

We'll Keep the 'Light' on for you, Jim, Lord willing.
"Whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there I am also." Can't beat the company here at FR {;~)

There's no place like home :)
And you betcha I'll be contributing on the next Freepathon and those upcoming. I do not want to see FreeRepublic go away and would be very sad if it did.
FreeRepublic is my home away from home!
God Bless FreeRepublic!

The libs would be dancing in the streets were FR to go the way of other dot bombs. It has been a few months since I have contributed, but I will gladly contribute more if necessary.
Regardless of the outcome, thank you for all that you do and have done, JR!

VAnity threads don't bother me at all! Some of them are entertaining, funny, and some are even thought provoking! I agree. That was just one of those "If I had a nickel for every time........" type of comments. I'll bet a dollar for each "Bad American" thread would have paid for a month of FR by itself.

Wow, 167 replies in the time it took to read this, and probably another 167 as I type this. I say rock on, the fact that this site is so successful as a private entreprise is an embarrassment to the DNC-sponsored types that we all know are out there and shall remain nameless.
