A few days ago on the first thread where I ever saw a post by mvscal, he accused me of "masturbating to Richard Marchinko books", and he repeatedly lies that I am a phony SEAL, that I am a wannabee faker etc.

And he gets away with it, his worst excretions are merely deleted by the Admin Moderators, and on he goes to throw more turds at other freepers.

Sorry, but as thick as my skin is, I want to know why the Admin Moderators are being used to protect this filth spewing character.

If this is now a "forbidden discussion zone" on FR, then so be it.

I think it is clear that there is a tendency by the Admin Moderator to over-protect presumed minority flames. Consider it to be the same unconscious action that used to be called 'racism.' Now that is very conscious while this new form of bias isn't. IMO.

Well, everyone was complaining that the moderators were pulling too many posts and banning too many people, so I asked them to lighten up a bit. We will continue to pull posts that are way over the line and ban posters who continue their abuses after multiple warnings, etc, but we may not choose to ban on the first offense. If this person is way over the line then he probably will not be here much longer. Thanks, Jim Robinson

Travis - let it go. The kid was either on/off his med's or had been drinking or not thinking... Or, it could have been a simple case of penis envy.

We both wasted too much time, and peace of mind attempting to have a discussion. I accept his creditials - he fought his war. Every man fights his own wars - either in uniform or at the office - and none should diminish the history of another.

The kid was exactly correct in his position that the early story information indicated Americans were present at the scene of what could in fact have been a serious war crime.. But then, he stupidly walked into the clearing - attempting to say there was NEVER any acceptable scenario where "war crimes" must be seen in the light of situational ethics and the will to survive.

Frankly, I hope he cools down, takes that chip off his shoulder and comes back. I'll bet you're man enough to forgive - once.

I agree with you. Is Free Republic becoming Leftist, Anti-American? I want to know. I've known guys who were booted off FreeRepublic because they spoke out against illegal immigration in an intelligent manner. That means no curse words, only attention to detail and the facts.

It makes no sense. Hey, moderators, if you truly support the standards you say that you do, you would NOT prohibit free speech in the form of political issues, and you would delete and kick-off individuals who curse and shout obscenities. However, in this crazy time of ours, common sense is no longer the norm, even on a website that claims that it is Conservative.

Sorry to be late to the discussion. I was very budy over the weekend. I have to wonder why mvscal gets a free pass when long time Freepers like Moo Collins were banned. I have not yet been banned but I have had posts censored. I guess at least one of the people in the moderator's position has some kind of ax to grind.
