You are welcome in Arkansas, we need you. Northwest is a nice area.
Land and homes are cheap, taxes are low. You can live in the mountains on a lake but are within a reasonable distance of Tulsa, Springfield, MO and a daylight distance of Dallas, OKC, Memphis, KC, or STL. Beaches in the Florida panhandle or GulfShores are a reasonable distance for long weekends if you decide you need the ocean. Fishing and hunting are good. People are friendly. And did I mention that land and homes are cheap.

I lived in Arkansas once......... ......Once.
All kidding aside, It's BEAUTIFUL there. People are nice. Dems are well, there, but not as loud about it as they used to be.
I'd suggest towns between 30k and 100k in Texas. Like Stephenville, etc. There is a publication of the "100 best small towns in America" each year. I forget who publishes it.
TAXES are low?

Hey, that's where my husband and I are retiring! We have property in Cherokee Village on a lake, we can't wait! Beautiful area, fishing, hunting, etc.

NW Arkansas is a great spot, particularly Mountain Home, Flippin, etc.. Heber Springs would be nice as well, though a little further South.
Texas hill country is mighty hard to beat as well and no state income tax, warmer winters, no snow.

But it's Clinton country and he might decide to return.....
