I just caught the end of the news conference with four of the soldiers who were injured with the friendly fire. They described a first hand account of their actions and released much new information. They apparently saved a small town from the Taliban. If someone could post the transcripts it would be greatly appreciated. For those of you who saw and heard the news conference please fill us in on more details. Thanks.

These were the four soldiers who survived the friendly fire. They each gave personal accounts of their injuries, their individual job duties, what exactly they were doing when the bomb hit and the aftermat.

Yea but it would also be hard for them to speak and then have someone say that nothing followed.
They spoke!!!
What? When? What did they say?
Sorry.... nothing followed!

Do they know how it happened? What where they doing? How are they doing? What injuries do they have? Was it bad?

# 4: Probably, unless the News Conference was held at a seance.
To: Khepera
Do they know how it happened? They stated it was under investigation, however they wern't concerned about pointing fingers or placing blame because this is what they train for and these things happen in war.
What where they doing?
Apparently they were on a hill within visual of a small town while directing US bombing on at least 50 vehicles and Taliban soldiers who were going to attack the town an make an example of the people because the town recently denounced the Taliban.
How are they doing?
They all have what they say are minor injuries and are still numb from the shock of the incident.
What injuries do they have?
They all had at least one eardrum blown as well as other injuries.

If a tree fell in the forest and there was nobody there, would there be a sound???? ~~{;^D
To: Khepera
They also gave a wonderful tribute to the three soldiers who lost their lives in this incident and apparently there are some other soldiers who have very serious injuries. Sorry I didn't get the number who have serious injuries, but wasn't there an earlier report about 20 soldiers injured?

Amen. I ran into an Air Force guy at the grocery store. I told him how much we all support the military and how proud we are. He said, "We have some toys we haven't used so far." I didn't ask because he would have had to kill me on the spot. It gave me goosebumps. He was taking his newborn baby to the store after a 10 hour stint at the base.
Here's the back of my hand to all those liberal whiners who said we would be bogged down for 10 years because the Taliban could outfight us. Ha. Ha. Ha. Time magazine said the Taliban could not understand how we could find them and bomb them so precisely.

I will look for the transcript on the DOD web site later today, if Hipixs doesn't post it. MSNBC, knowing that their viewers want to see this, are going to play it in drips and drabs throughout the day, rather than re-playing the entire thing at once. Aaargh!!
The reply clip I saw included an officer saying that they arrived in the village 6 hours ahead of a Taliban force who had been instructed to slaughter the entire village, including women and children, as an example. They worked with the anti-Taliban forces to set up a defense and called in air strikes to destroy the Taliban. Said it was the most rewarding part of being in Afghanistan, and they had developed a close relationship with those Afghanis as a result of this battle.
Very impressive guys. (Handsome, too, for the ladies who are reading this. Ha!)

MM thanks for your help. I just caught the end of the conference and was looking for input from others who may have seen the whole thing. The transcrips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
