BCS is out, and its Ne3braska to play Miami
How appropriate that ABC was broadcasting figure skating before their Bull Crap System announcement, as another freeper said earlier, without a playoff its all just figure skating.

BTW, how do both polls put Florida ahead of Tennessee, when they have identical records, and yet Tenn. beat UF head to head AT FLORIDA just two weeks ago? How is Tennessee ahead of Texas, when they have identical records, yet TN lost to two 8-3 teams, #12 & 19, once at home, while TX lost to two top 10 10-2 teams(#3 & 10), one the defending nat'l champ, the other should be playing for the nat' champ, on a neutral field? Further, compare each team's last loss, TN by 11 and sinking, TX by two in a furious comeback, outscoring Colorado 27-10 in the final 33 minutes, almost able to overcome 4 1st half turnover by their own idiot quarterback(Colorado's MVP, now benched for the year)? Anyone outside of TN apologists who would bet against Texas in a Longhorn-Volunteer matchup? Of course, with a playoff, we'd might well get to see it decided on the field.

I love it! This makes a mockery of the BCS. It's time for an 8 or 16 team playoff.

Don't try to figure it out. The BCS=Bull $hit, it is the biggest fraud since Hillary. They really need a playoff, Colorado and Oregon got SCREWED big time.

BCS declare's the Big 12's 3rd place team #2 in the country, possibly #1.
If Nebraska wins the Rose, Oregon/Colorado winner should be #1.What a complete and udder fraud.

Nah, Colorado got crushed by Texas. At least Nebraska lost to a better team and by fewer points.

I love all this BCS controversy. I've been railing against the bowl system for eons and years like this only make the inevitable change to a playoff come sooner.

No 2-loss team has ever won the national chanmpionship right?

I'm missing something. Who is it that favors the BCS and has anyone seen any of the supporters on ESPN or FOX or any other sports show?
There doesn't seem to be anybody on this site in favor of the BCS, and this is where the great intellects hang out.

No BCS = Big Cornhusker Scam

What a shocker...another FRAUD with the letters BC in it.

I guess if CU had beaten Miami in the first game of the season the BSC would have STILL selected Nebraska. What a travesty. Corn pealers do not deserve this.

Have you forgotten that Colorado beat Texas in the Big 12 championship game? This is such a fraud, bring on the playoffs.

Nebraska, fourth place team in both polls, deemed #2 by the BCS.
Playoff is the only answer. Its the same old fraud, just like they cried and weaseled their way into sharing the title with Miami in '97 just because their warden was retiring. And I think Penn State has a beef going even further back.
Boulder is the middle west's Berkeley enclave, Oregon has the gulag of Eugene and the Portland police chief(a terrorists best friend), methinks David Bois may be looking into plane tickets!

I love all this BCS controversy. I've been railing against the bowl system for eons and years like this only make the inevitable change to a playoff come sooner. I don't think it will ever happen. Just about every year we go through this about who is number #1 in college football. There is too much money in the bowl system, what with 26 bowl games. That is too much money going to each conference/team and I don't think they will give it up.

If you ask me they should just go back to the way it was. No "national championship". Just bowls. I still can't figure out how the freakin'
Rose Bowl is not simply the Pac-10 champ against the Big-10 champ. That's what the Rose Bowl
is.
Just return to the traditional bowl setup.
But no one seems to like that idea. There seems to be an obsessive need to Know Who The National Champion Is. As if this could ever be defined and determined in a way which could satisfy everyone, in the first place. 16-team playoff? What about team #17 - is there any doubt they will complain about being slighted?
Come on. Who needs a "national champion" anyway? Is it some psychological need that people have? I just don't get it.

BCS pulls a Palm Beach, picks Nebraska and Gore Don't you think you are over-reacting just a wee bit. This isn't anything close to the 2000 election, it s college football. And guess what, next year we are probably going to have another stink about who is number #1.

Well, I see this was yanked quickly from breaking news, its only probably the biggest item of debate for the next week or so. Of course it means nothing compared to the war, but last time I checked it was a pretty slow day over on breaking news. Funny how the football threads stayed all night in the Breaking sidebar. Perhaps the moderater was a female or Cornhusker? Hard to figure, but if there is anything less coherent than the BCS, its the yanking policy of some of the moderators. Sure, they usually do a good job in a thankless task, but every now and then someone pulls a stinko. And for what, leaving the BCS out of breaking news today only insures that an article about it will be posted there a dozen more times today.
Time for me to cook up a grilled cheese sandwich.
