The reports on the radio this morning said the poshness of Omar's house has caused quite a stir in Kandahar. Apparently the people are not real pleased that the Mullah was spending their moolah on living luxuriously while they lived like rats

Isn't that basically how a dictatorship works.

Great post, and great pics. Some didn't show up though, even when I right clicked on them and clicked "Show Picture".

Otherwise, great post. Loved the ones of the freed prisoners, especially the women prisoners. BUMP

I read on another thread that Jihad Johnnie has provided information that the use of biological weapons is imminent.

That, along with booby traps, has been my greatest concern for members of our military who are searching "abandoned" or recently evacuated caves. Great post.

I see continued references to the "single-point system" of food distribution. Do you know what this system is and why is it causing such chaos?

This is what I heard on NPR the other day. Various aid organizations have very quickly hired hundreds of Afghan women to go house to house and distribute ration tickets. These newly hired aid workers were trained poorly and hastily. Some of the women aid workers were only giving out one ration ticket per house; some were giving out one ticket per family per house (many Afghan families share the same house), and some were even giving out one ticket per person. Naturally chaos has been reigning ever since, and the women of the various houses are extremely upset when they find that they only got one or a few tickets while their neighbors got more. I don't know how this is going to get resolved...

In their efforts to be politically correct, so many . . . tend to misplace ,abuse , and twist the priorities of the freedoms given them..

"Liberalism" is simply an attempt to support one's own self-esteem by joining a like-minded crowd bent one disrespecting their betters with second-guessing and double standards.

Teddy Roosevelt must have had such people in mind when he said, "It is not the critic who counts . . .".

Thanks again. I'll never understand why we didn't nuke'em on 9-13, seal our borders and deport or intern all Arabs. God gave us nuclear power for a reason.

[From the caption""U.S. Marines, building a detention facility outside the walls of Camp Rhino in Southern Afghanistan, speak to someone in a green metal container December 11, 2001. How ironic that Taliban Johnny would find himself imprisoned in one of the very same containers in which so very many prisoners of the Taliban froze and starved to death over the years! BTW everyone, this guy was very recalicitrant before, and I would take any "information" he gives us with a VERY large grain of salt.
