The sad truth is that in NYC where I live most of the people who are anti-Sharon (and anti-Netanyahu before that) are Jews...they don't seem to have a real Jewish consciousness but rather a Northeastern liberal Jewish identity...it's like the American grandchildren and great grandchildren of the Holocaust survivors refuse to see the connection between Islamism and the Nazi movement...they seek peace through appeasement...they have no real sense of pride or courage.

Some of our greatest friends and allies today are the same people who commited the worst atrocities in the 1940's. I do not excuse their behavior then, but I will not hold the current generation responsible any more than I hold contemporary Americans responsible for slavery.

And as for closing the gates in WWII, do not forget how much the British themselves suffered at the hands of the Nazis. Were it not for their courage and resolve, America might never have gotten involved in the European War.

The British sociocrats have always come off as a bit smobish and bigoted, now add anti-semetic bordering on Nazi to that combination and warning lights start flashing. European Jews need to see the inceasing hatred of Israel and prepare to cash out and relocate. So far the U.S. is still a safe haven but that can change rapidly, given the extraordinary potential for world crisis at any moment. Where can a Jewish man feel safe walking down the steet wearing his tzitziot out and a kippah on his head? Paris, London, Berlin, Jerusalem, Newark, Detroit, Miami?

I present to you that no place on Earth can an individual openly be Jewish and expect to remain safe. 100's of millions would come to the defense of Israel and the Jew's worldwide, but 1000's of millions would rather see them dead and forgotten.

Maybe not. But I watched the "Chanukah Live!" presentation on webcam and I was flabbergasted by the Menorah-lighting ceremony at the Kremlin. This massive menorah (20 feet high), thousands of people in subzero weather, the Mayor of Moscow wishing "Zpraznikem Chanukah" and loudspeakers playing Jewish music. Absofreakinglutely unbelievable. In Moscow. Who'da thunk?
