Conservatives complain that the press won't leave the Bush daughters alone, but don't hold themselves to the same standards.

That is NOT a double standard. Chelsea Klinton stepped over the line when she was railing against President Bush's tax cut in a magazine about her 9-11 story. She is fair game now. The Bush daughters have done none of that.

IMHO, she is over 21 and has chosen a 'public' life based on her standing as an ex-first daughter (thru her magazine article). She no longer is deserving of the consideration given to her as a daughter of a president, because she is not one.

She is fair game in the world of the tabloids.

I cannot recall any ex-first family who has consistently whored for publicity as the white trash from Arkansas has done. That clinton family is nothing but trash. From the floozie mama to the coke-snorting mama's boys. (not to mention the in-laws)

All they did was break the law by drinking under age.
