"...when dozens of windows suddenly began exploding across my screen--have caused my system to freeze completely."

Being a perpetual novice, I thought my computer was a goner the first time this happened to me! It's going too far when they pop so many they freeze your puter.

Pop-ups are JAVA script. You may wish to thank Sun Micro.

There's no such thing as "JAVA script." Pop-up ads are written in the "JavaScript" language, which is run directly by the client (not the Java VM) and is not related to Sun's Java in any way. JavaScript was originally called "LiveScript", but for some reason Netscape decided to confuse millions of people for years to come by giving the language a name that implied it was something that it wasn't.

Blame Netscape for the name. If you don't like JavaScript, blame both Netscape and Microsoft for including it in their browsers.

I personally use a browser called: Netcaptor that uses all of Internet Exploder's settings, is very small as far as installation file, and has the ability to capture any popup you deem worthy. It has other great features, also, but they don't apply to this topic.

...Deja Vu all over again????
Or Ground Hog Day???...

Perhaps, after..let's say...10,000 hours of internet surfing our brains are transformed into a "virtual world."
That virtuality in turn makes us think we have all died and gone to hell.

Besides the fire and brimstone I figure it will be 24/7 non-stop pop.ups.

Just a theory of mine.

Hi, Pokey78 . . . Glad to hear you like "SpyBlocker"!!! . It certainly gets rid of all the excess crap, eh ???
Only problem . . . it's price is beyond your ability to figure out how you'll ever be able to pay for it !!! ;-))
