Who knows for sure what he was attempting? We may never know, but we CAN speculate can't we?

Attempted murder? He flew a small aircraft into an empty building on a Saturday evening. Sounds like a flamboyant suicide to me. Now, if he had somehow managed to get there on a Friday afternoon, or flew into a school during the school day...or flew into any of the buildings or barracks at McDill, or a mall or a restaurant, then I'd consider it a murder suicide.

..care to explain the attempted murder aspect of his flight?...What 'attempted murder aspect'?
If he'd wanted to kill people, he would have done it on a weekday. Instead, he wanted the notoriety of the big finale; nothing new there.
