PRESIDENTIAL niece Lauren Bush just landed a spot on "Friends." The 17-year-old Elite model - whose all-American looks landed her a lucrative Tommy Hilfiger campaign - taped a non-speaking spot on the hit sitcom yesterday in L.A. We're told that Bush, who has been working as an intern on "Friends" for the past few weeks, will be shown shooting a disgusted look at either Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer or Matt LeBlanc in an upcoming episode.

Guess she didn't hear (or didn't care) about Jennifer Anniston eloquently referring to Uncle George as a "f*cking idiot." -or something to that effect

I saw "friends" once. It was boring and stupid and I didn't make it to the end of the show.

You said what I would have said. What is wrong with some of those Bush girls? They have Hollyweird drooling over them and they all succumb?? Good 'ol Hollyweird that has been downright nasty to their family with personal attacks. And, yes, Jennifer "Fu**ing idiot" Aniston made that comment to Rolling Stone about President Bush(Lauren's uncle-her father being Neil). That and other typical Hollyweird "idiot" comments. Really showed what kind of person Aniston is. Also, Aniston made the comment of her and Brad boy running into Jenna Bush when she worked as an intern at their management and mocking her as they walked by "Jenna we've got a beer in the truck". Hollyweird seems to be really falling over the Bush girls? I'm curious as to how and why these Hollyweird jobs are offered to the Bushes?? And certain members accepting??

I'm also curious as to how certain family members get along with one another, concerning they're rushing to Hollyweird any chance they get?

Maybe, just maybe they enjoy being the "Elites" just like all of our current and past "leaders"?

I liked the show in its early days. It had a freshness then which it's long since lost. Lately the writers just seem to be repeating themselves. The first seasons combined some witty observation of the world with likeable, self-deprecating characters. For the past few years the characters have been idiots -- really stupid people, much more stupid than they need to be.

If the mass media are so important to people, it pays to get them on your side. Just as Nixon appeared on "Laugh In," Bush I and Dole courted the SNL comedians who ridiculed them, and in the end made a better impression on Dana Carvey and Norm McDonald than Clinton did on Darrell Hammond.

There may be some dividends in winning over such people, if one isn't won over by them. It shows that politics is not one's whole life and that one can take a joke, or even put up with abuse from people who don't know what they're talking about without losing one's cool.

Most politician's relatives don't take politics too seriously -- if they do, it's a sign that they are thinking about a career in the field. And most people don't take what Jennifer Aniston thinks about politics at all seriously. She gets all her "ideas" from Brad Pitt, and he gets his from ... Robert Redford? ... Alec Baldwin? ... "High Times" magazine?

Is Jennifer Aniston the enemy in the cultural or political wars? I suppose so, but looking at things that way means taking those wars a lot less, rather than more, seriously.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but she looks dead in most of those pix. Standing up, but dead.
