At least until those freshman have to earn a living..

One can only hope.

Unfortunately, my daughter is a prime example of the liberal indoctrination on our college campuses. Although she didn't like Gore, she voted for him over Bush because she had been taught that democrats are pro-environment and pro-choice (not that she would have an abortion herself -- she just thinks the government should stay out of it).

I raised her better than this, honest I did! At least my son is a republican, so they basically cancel out each other's votes.

Barbara Olson, who was a passenger on board the plane that crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, and whose book reaming the Clintons is as mellow as Mike Tyson with a toothache.

THAAAAT'S RIIIGHT! Blame the Messenger. I guess the disgusting, illegal, and felonious activities of the Clintons can't be the issue.

God Bless Barbara.

...and three books honoring America's response to Sept. 11

Interesting how the author lumps these in as among the conservative books which have "a star-spangled hammerlock on what America's reading".

Can books which honor America's response only be "conservative" books? Can they not be liberal books?

This is a tacit admission that a.) patriotism is, ipso facto, a conservative value and b.) liberals don't even contest the ground.

The author is either being honest...or careless.

"...Let's not get carried away..."

I understand.

My point was that the words 'Open Season' in this context are the grossest sort of hyperbole, exaggeration and distortion. Leftist liars, cowards and professional 'victims' are attempting to appropriate through this propaganda item a mantle that they absolutely do not deserve.

The sort of violent events that I described are, and have long been, commonplace in other locations on the globe, and (where they occur) are genuinely suggestive of an 'Open Season' on the fill in the blank group involved.

My public apologies here if I was a little too graphic for anyone’s taste.

Trouble is, the Left will never let us just shrug and walk away. They have and will continue to settle their disagreements with you at the barrel of a gun.

We're not that far away from all out civil war in this country, GW notwithstanding. The marriage of the Left's desperation and arrogance will breed unthinking violence and brutality. I won't fire the first shot. But I will do everything in my power to finish the fight. No quarter asked, and none given...

LOL!

That my friend is the crux of the problem. The left is unwilling to not get its way 100%. They not only demand that they win at all times but demand that you celebrate their victory.

Both your posts sum up my feelings perfectly.

When push comes to shove, you can bet that they will 'shove' first. They would be those who will start a conflict in this country.

Being the communists they are, individuals can be sacrificed to the State, no problem. They are very good at justifying horrendous acts as for the 'common good', etc. (in their own minds)

We have already seen glimpses of the lengths they will go to in order to meet their goals.

An attempt to overturn the Constitution in Florida during the election.

The NAACP fomenting situations in which there is a great possibility of violence (S Carolina tourist intimidation 'border stops)

Getting laws passed against those critical of their policies (laws specifically passed against pro-life protesters, which really don't apply to anybody else).

A myriad of left wing oriented 'protests' in this country which always seem to erupt into violence

Just a few examples, we could sit here all day and list things of this nature.

Not to repeat myself, but I have to say it again. The liberals (leftists) in this country are budding totalitarians.

I note that "Pee-Diddy" is softened up to his given name of Sean Comes (Combs?). Apparently, even the leftists realize how stupid the rapper names sound and look in print.

When we start seeing significant numbers of conservatives staffing the professorships of our university liberal arts departments (by significant, I mean over 10%...I doubt conservatives even make up 2 or 3 percent of these positions), we'll know that we truly won the revolution.

"...It is not very intelligent to discuss your plans in the open like that, or using normal email either which can be read by outsiders. You should use only internal email on a trusted website like this. It was very wise by the administrators to remove your indiscretions from sight. Please read next time what it says right here now when I am posting this:..."

LOL!

I can't tell whether you're (yawn) a disrupter, or someone with limited reading and English comprehension skills...

Either way... Bless your heart Comrade Pivelnovalovsky, you go out now and have as good a day as you can manage to have!

"...I apologize that my english is not very perfect. I don't know why you call me "Comrade": is it because of my name? Anyway it is very insulting for a Christian who hates communists because I have seen what they do. I am happy that you know what needs to be done to communists like all the liberals in your country and I'm only saying that you shouldn't let them know in advance and I don't understand why you want to insult me..."

LOL!

Sure... I've got a minute to play this morning.

Let's dissect your remarks here...

"...I apologize that my english is not very perfect..."

My guess is that your English is as good as you want it to be. Whatever the case here, why would you apologize to me? It would never enter my head to apologize to you were our roles here reversed. Get some starch in you, friend.

"...I don't know why you call me "Comrade": is it because of my name?..."

I call you 'Comrade' because the house bet is that you're just another disrupter, which (if true) would mean that you're a leftist, which would mean that you've got that 'Comrade' thing goin' on.

"...Anyway it is very insulting for a Christian who hates communists because I have seen what they do..."

If you're a Christian, good. If you hate communists, good. I'll be honest with you though... I wouldn't bet a used condom against a powdered sugar doughnut with a bite taken out of it that either is the case with you.

"...I am happy that you know what needs to be done to communists like all the liberals in your country and I'm only saying that you shouldn't let them know in advance and I don't understand why you want to insult me..."

LOL!

In your first message your tone is subtly adversarial. Now you're my wink, wink, nudge, nudge helpful unindicted co-conspirator...

Right out in front of God and Jim and Harpseal and my little dog Sassafras too.

Here's how the song goes, Comrade Piv...

Reporting what has happened, literally thousands of times in other places, as an example of the appropriate use of the words 'Open Season' is indisputably educational, and clearly advocates nothing rowdier than a proper (and guileless) use of English.

No sane person wants for America to descend into the madness and chaos so routine outside our gates.

and no properly educated, honest person would equate being scolded in a book with such a sorry state of affairs.

You run off now and warn the Rosenburgs that the FBI is on to them...

But don't, "To be usink publik mailings daht can be... vat is daht vird... ah yes! opensk by ze authorities."

I love the fact that conservative books top the leftist NYT Best-seller list!

This is not necessarily a good thing, and does not mean we are about to win the "culture wars." It only means that Conservatives are reading ...
meanwhile, those on the Left are out carrying signs, pounding on desks, allocating time for progressive causes, writing their Congressman, volunteering wherever they can influence the young, and doing whatever is necessary to advance the cause of World Socialism.

They not only demand that they win at all times but demand that you celebrate their victory.

That's really the worst of it, isn't it? There are worse things than dying, and that's the surrender of once's conscience to the institutionalized lie. Robert Conquest, in his magnificent Reflections on a Ravaged Century, called it 'mindslaughter'. For everyone's benefit, let's recall what Solzhenitsyn had to say about the surrender of the inner self to totalist monsters:

“The state system which exists in our country is terrible not because it is undemocratic, authoritarian, based only on physical constraint - a man can live in such conditions without harm to his spiritual essence.”

“Our present system is unique in world history, because above and above its physical and economic constraints, it demands of us total surrender of our souls, continuous and active participation in the general, conscious lie. To this putrefaction of the soul, this spiritual enslavement, human beings who wish to be human cannot consent. When Caesar, having exacted what is Caesar's, demands still more insistently that we render unto him what is God's - that is a sacrifice we dare not make!

The most important part of our freedom, inner freedom, is always subject to our will. If we surrender it to corruption, we do not deserve to be called human.

Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, From Under the Rubble, from the essay "As Breathing and Consciousness Return"  - October, 1973

Nothing like a postcard from hell to serve as a wake up call. Solzhenitsyn knew all too well what was at stake.
