Seems to me if the U.S. continues to give amnesty to illegal aliens they have all the more incentive to cross the border.Just as I heard Tancredo quote an INS worker. She told him "Please don't let them in Washington talk about amnesty, every time it happens we are deluged at the border".This was in Texas.(I paraphrased)

"Same here. This is my litmus test for Bush and any other candidate in the Republican Party." If Bush and the rest of the Republican Party underestimate the backlash, from conservative voters, after they betray us, they're fools.
Amnesty is the Republican Party's 'DOOMSDAY BUTTON'.

Amnesty is the Republican Party's 'DOOMSDAY BUTTON'. What the heck are we going to do here? We can't vote for the RATS and our party is selling us down the river.

Reform Party

If the Republican Party gives the illegals amnesty, my family will vote for another party that promises to seal the borders and get tough on terrorists, illegals and drug smugglers. We'll say, in the immortal words of the Terminator,
"Hasta la vista, baby." Another party will emerge and run on these issues. Maybe it'll be the Reform Party. Maybe it will be a new party.
Any party will be better than the one that betrayed us. I won't send another dollar to the Republican Party until I've seen what they do on this amnesty issue.
Some Republicans may not understand the concepts of sovereignty and loyalty, but they comprendo dinero, amigo mio.:-)

Another party will emerge and run on these issues. Maybe it'll be the Reform Party. Just contacted another poster re the Reform Party. Don't know anything about them but those of us who care about our country feel that we have to do something. Is there any chance that we can marshall enough conservatives to change the tide?

The Mexicans are laughing at Bush. They think he's weak. Thousands of his own people were killed, millions more are out of work, terrorists are still operating in the country (anyone want to venture a guess as to who killed Katherine Smith, the Tennessee DMV employee?), but he comes running whenever Vicente snaps his fingers. That is the undeniable picture. Great Post Reg.

I'm just waiting to get zapped by the Threadinator for that comment. Maybe I should point out that I'm advocating an even harder line of conservatism, not criticising conservatives in general.

Check out the platform for the American Independent Party. http://www.aipca.org/

The American Independent Party is the California affiliate of the Constitution Party.

"What George Washington started, George Bush intends to end: The Independence of the United States." You should post a copy of post #20 on every amnesty and illegal immigration thread you participate in.
If my memory serves me correctly, George Bush made statements before the election like, "If you're not here legally, you're here illegally." What conclusion was he trying to trick conservatives into drawing from statements like that?
Bush did hide his intended solution to the illegal immigration problem from the conservatives. He also hid his intentions regarding the Navy base on Vieques, Puerto Rico from the military.

I have about giving up on President Bush and our elected officials to protect our borders. Like I said on another thread yesterday I think some of the anti-immigration groups need to turn their resources towards organizing a Citizens Border Patrol because it appears that their lobbying is not working. I still support their efforts in Washington but this issue has to be taken to the border by "We the people" because politicians refuse to listen to us. Republicans want slave labor for big business (Tysons Chicken, McDonalds, etc.) and DemoRATS want illegal votes and what the rest of us want doesn't matter.

Bush and the Washington politicians are going to try to shove this garbage down out throats. There is no way that I would even consider voting for Bush again - I don't trust him.

There is no way that I would even consider voting for Bush again - I don't trust him. I have always voted Republican, but it appears the time has come to leave the stupid party. They are more interested in competing with the DemoRATS for illegal votes and turning their back on mainstream America. I cannot see voting for any of them come election time.

Why does Bush and his idiotic advisers insist on alienating millions of American voters in order to placate the wants of Fox and his little invading foot soldier reconquistadors. Nobody can be this stupid unless they are totally controlled in a way we'll never know. This is the true definition of national suicide!

I agree with your previous response too, that it's the money. Whenever the RNC sends me little 'gimme' requests, I send it back (to the spam-o-matic that sent it, I'm sure) with a polite, "when you get serious about immigration, we'll talk" note.
I contribute to guys I like, like Tancredo and some guys here in CA, but the national committee is controlled by Bush, and we need to send them a message: "hope you get a lot of corporate money to make up for the votes you lost from the rank and file. Maybe you can bribe Los Immigrantes to vote for you with the welfare stuff, but there's another party that's better at that".
