Politicians are already working on that. Haven't you read HR2356?
You know, I was just thinking of that comparison. The attack on the 2nd Amendment is based upon the argument that gunownership is a collective not an individual right. For years, I've argued that if the 1st Amendment were treated as the 2nd, then political speech by individuals would be also be banned. One could say that if 2nd amendment rights were exercised by the National Guard, then our speech rights were also exercised by Public Radio.
Of course my liberal "friends" derided this argument. But isn't that what Campaign Finance Reform does? Our rights to free speech will not be exercised by our friends in the media and our politicians while free speech by individuals will be banned? Isn't it amazing that liberals who supposedly honor individual rights are the first to abandon those rights?
