There is no scrutiny going on who crosses into Mexico. Also people are transporting kids over the border into the US to attend schools or use the hospitals all the time. Half the kids in the border schools are from Mexico, they obviously checking each carful of kids because they're trying to make sure no one waits more than 10-15 minutes in those lines at that bridges.
FresnoDA, as a guy who grew up in what the local newspaper calls "Grantville," that post brought back memories of the ever-expanding Grantville, which at the last time I checked, covered half of the City of San Diego, if you believe the local paper. That's one reason I don't read the San Diego Union-Buffoon...
I agree with you, but bear in mind that to them, decency is somehow "prudish" or "narrow-minded" or worse. On these Danielle threads, I've seen people lash out at those who criticize the hedonistic lifestyle of the parents, or at those who even hint that the parents' behavior might have played a part in the tragedy. To some people, good is evil and evil is good, and forget about common sense. It's been an education, that's for sure.
I'd say it has, as I have received freep-mail from lurkers giving me encouragement. Everyone who argued with me on that thread was libertarian. It is moral laissaz faire relativism--"anything goes if it pleases me" syndrome. They live in subjective utopia. This is what decent Americans are up against--it is what's being taught to our kids via the pop culture and the liberals in public schools.
It's why I fight against drugs. People say pot is no big deal, kids sure think it's nothing, but it opens the door to other harder drugs. It's all related.
This is why I was so dismayed to learn that they are just now getting around to checking the van Dam home for clues! I can't believe that they wouldn't at least consider the possibility that the abductor was either someone they knew or--Heaven forbid--the parents themselves. It seems they've been too busy consoling the "grieving" media stars parents to consider all the possibilities. They say they've "completely cleared" the guests that night--how so? Why so? Because everyone alibied for everyone? What kind of "evidence" is that?
Pardon my rant, but this morning my blood is boiling as I read more and more about the SDPD incompetence in this. Or maybe they have a few of those "swinger" on the force, and they have a reason to look the other way. Can't have "swingers" looking bad, now, can they? That's what FR's swingers are doing.
Think "Boulder." Think "Ramsey." Think "cold case."
This is undoubtedly an important point, however in our society, how well do we get to know anyone outside our immediate circle of friends? People who look like they are leading moral, respectable lives on the surface are frequently the ones that have the most vile secrets.
