Woman Sentenced for Castration Death
Wed Feb 27, 2:18 PM ET
BUTLER, Pa. (AP) A transsexual was sentenced to up to 11 years in prison Wednesday for performing a crude castration that led to her husband's death.
Tammy Felbaum, 43, was sentenced to 5 ½ to 11 years for involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault in last year's death of her sixth husband.
"I loved my husband. I don't deserve this," Felbaum said.
She had argued that James Felbaum, 40, was found in a filthy trailer home that contained a makeshift operating room.
His wife argued that he castrated himself while she was sleeping to prove he wouldn't cheat on her.
But prosecutors said Tammy Felbaum performed the procedure, and said the man died from the pain of a castration and the effects of a painkiller. The coroner said Felbaum choked on his own vomit.
Tammy Felbaum told authorities she performed the operation on herself when she was 21 and later had a sex-change operation.
She was also found guilty of reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of medicine, but did not receive any prison time on those charges.

When you've got 'em by the b***s, their hearts and minds will follow.

This was a sick case. Since it was (to me) local, I heard quite a bit about it. This woman, IMO, deserves a lot more than a few years in prison. Then again you could definitely argue that s/he/it was not sane; in which case, lock 'her' up in the loony bin for good.

What ever happened to the other FIVE husbands? I bet there's a long story attached to this she-he.
To: AdrianZ
One thing that is suspicious is that the article said it was her 6th husband. How does a transexual get 6 people to marry her when there are real women out there who can't even find one?? I don't get it. It's bad enough that this person is crazy...but a transexual on top of it, God help us.

I promise to put a file in the cake I bring you.

,,, Butler sounds like a happening town. Nice to have the time, Tammy.

This is local for me. I have a problem considering Tammy Feldbaum a female. He is just a castrated male that killed his homosexual lover. This jerk should spend a long time away from civilized folks.

It's not *that* local - I've never even been to Butler - but nothing ever happens around here (Pittsburgh area - though you're in New Zealand, right? so you have no idea where Butler is probably.). So, transexual castration murder gets the front pages of the papers!

This article is nuts.......

Megadittos Lois. The headline Transsexual Woman Sentenced ... is incorrect. Every cell in "Tammy"'s body has the male XY chromosome pair. Sex cannot be changed my surgical mutilation and hormone injection. The headline is a slur on women.

,,, a fun town is a fun town any place on the planet Jen. If Butler becomes big in meat exports, you'll understand why we'll want to slap tarriffs on, huh?

This is local for me. I have a problem considering Tammy Feldbaum a female Same here. Tammy/Tommy still had Y chromosomes in every cell of his body. Just because he had radical surgery doesn't make him a woman, in any sense of the word.
To: shaggy eel
,,, Butler sounds like a happening town Didn't happen in Butler, only the trial. Tammy/tommy performed his surgery in a rural part of Butler county.
To: shaggy eel
Yah, I'll understand and I won't take it personally. Like I said, Butler's probably an hour from where I live. Still, this sort of nonsense has struck too close to home. At least it's not exactly the sort of crime where I could see myself in either role!

You will when you get Bill And jesse for roomies someday :)
To: welfareworker
,,, sorry, the article didn't appear to offer that amount of detail. I assumed. Oh, I put an extra "r" in tariff too. Not my day today.
To: JenB
,,, somedays we're the pigeon, somedays we're the statue. Any day when this sort of thing happens, it's best to be a spectator.
