I wasn't talking about that. I just mean as an example of christianity his past will never let him be a good example to non-believers. They'll just see his past and think he's a hypocrite (as if we need anymore of that)

"I just mean as an example of christianity his past will never let him be a good example to non-believers." Unlike, for example, Paul, who actively persecuted Christians, and participated in the murder of Stephen?
It's precisely the people with sordid pasts who make the best demonstration of what a changed life really means.

By that logic, Christianity would have been better off without Saul of Taursus getting involved.
He has avoided "celebrity Christianity," because "it's really easy to focus on Alice Cooper and not on Christ. I'm a rock singer. I'm nothing more than that. I'm not a philosopher. I consider myself low on the totem pole of knowledgeable Christians. So, don't look for answers from me."M/I>
I love the humility and admire the restraint from falling into the trap of celebrity Christianity.

If the worst among us becomes saved how much more is it a witness to others who might be in despair themselves thinking there is no hop

His "PAST?" You're joking, right? Singing a bunch of occasionally stupid, occasionally pretty good songs qualifies him as morally worse than SAUL OF TARSUS?
And I know Moses was Old Covenant, but I recall something about him being a murderer. And this guy, King David, didn't he order a man's death so he would steal his wife? Yeah, that Alice Cooper is a real threat.
