The politically charged court battle over the state's four new congressional districts ended without drama Friday when a second appeal by Democrats to block a rival map was rejected without comment by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The denial cleared the way for candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives to run in the June 4 primaries and the Nov. 5 general election under a map drawn by a federal three-judge panel.
