Japanese men do only four hours of cooking, cleaning and other housework a week, the study found, compared to the 16 hours American men spend a week on such tasks. 4 hours ???? Taking out the trash and fixing broken things around the house takes MAYBE 2 hours a week.
Wife doesn't work so she does the rest while I play with our son and study.

Real men don't do housework( unless it involves tools cars or fixing something).

I think that the arrangements can be worked out in each family on the basis of their own wants and needs. Nothing is work if you like to do it. Anything is work if you hate it. A lot is just there in the middle. Who really likes to put out the trash? Maintain the vehicles? Clean up the dishes? Walk the dog? In this day and age, people would have to be mighty peculiar if they marry or cohabitate in arrangements they abhor!
