"I have never heard of it happening before," said Brian Baker, a senior deputy district attorney.

LAFAYETTE, Calif. -- Barnabas R. Miller, registered Republican, has been called for jury duty in Contra Costa County this month.

See what I mean?

No, the squirrel is not a dog, therefore ineligible to vote.

"You're supposed to be a citizen. He doesn't even have a driver's license."

A drivers license is required for citizenship ?
methinks Mr. Miller is confused.

Yes dogs do have rights too, but not if their last name is Clinton. And be careful which "dog" you vote for okay folks.

I think Arnold Ziffel was a registered voter, as well.

La Lopez tiene razon... esta absolutamente correcta. Why should a dog be allowed to register, when shocking as it may seem, dozens of illegal aliens are walking around unregistered? It's true that many of the illegals who voted for Lorretta Sanchez may have been registered and not have even known it. Hell, many of them are apparently unaware that they voted three or more times times ... once in person, once by absentee ballot, and once in person at another precinct. But that's beside the point. Don't you people realize that this dog's illegal vote could offset the illegal vote(s) of an illegal human?

Why it's positively un-American!

Barnabas is the dog. I was guessing that the owner was a 'Rat, and registered his dog as a Republican because it's a poodle, and they are basically rich snobs, just like all Republicans, if you ask your average Dem.

If Barnabas is the Republican, then at least he's smarter than his owner.

If the INS can forgive these illegal aliens and allow them to enjoy life in the US without fear of being arrested or deported (unless the illegal is a Cuban child and Reno, the Butcher od Waco, is in charge), certainly this cute little poodle and its master can be forgiven, as well.

Forgiven? I think the dog should serve on a jury. See if McDonald's gets hit with a $3 million judgment for spilled coffee with this poodle on the jury.

And nobody believes us when we tell them how screwed up things are in this state.

"I have never heard of it happening before," said Brian Baker, a senior deputy district attorney.

You realize of course, he means he never heard of a Republican doing it before....

California's voter registration laws changed in the 1970s to let people register by mail, rather than solely in person.

I used to live in this county in the town adjoining this dog. In fact, that is where we lived when we voted for the very first itme. To register, I had to go to the courthouse, get the names of several "registrars" of my party, make an appointment, go to his house, and register in person. (I think we did this on a Sunday evening, as I remember). Obviously, things have gotten lax since 1960!
