Do as I say... Not as I do?

Could it be possible that W knew all along that this bill would be challenged immediately after the vote, that he'll weather it out until the courts rule on the bill before he signs?? What happens if he doesn't sign before the 10 days??
To: RoseofTexas
Of course it will be challenged -- it's an attack on our freedom.
Which side of the attack is Bush on?

If the SCOTUS rules unconstitutional, will the media ask that idiot McCain how come he didn't know he was pushing bad legislation

Do you think MSNBC will let Dan Abrams cover this?
To: redlipstick
I was just thinking the same thing. The Abrams report, with Dan saying, "I have to recuse myself from commenting because my dad is defending the ubconstitutionality of this bill".
I wondered whether or not Lloyd Abrams was a republican, during the Florida debacle he seemed to always favor the Bush team.

I've always thought Floyd Abrams was an ACLU type Democrat, but he knows the Constitution backward forward and inside-out. If he seemed to be on the right side during the recount, it's because it was the constitutional side. I'm glad he's on the anti-CFR team.
Can you imagine the panty-twist of big media, if they are on Ashcroft's side against Abrams? What a sight to behold!
To: bybybill
That statement is false. The Solicitor General and the Attorney General are both subject to the President's direction. Both can be instructed to oppose a law, rather than defend it. This has bee done at least five times, by various Presidents. Conressman Billybob

"They don't have to put up a really great defense." May I respectfully suggest the Justice Department hire David Boies...???
