Terrific! Millions of dollars so we can see 5 minutes of a "digitized" Victor Borge concert followed by 30 minutes of "digitied" begging.

Big Bird's introduction to the free market is way overdue. Let him compete or die.

Can you imagine the shrieking we would hear if the tables were turned, and PBS/NPR was an arm of the GOP?

I give public TV enough money in the form of taxes. I'm not going to write them a check. They should be privatized and have to survive in the market economy like everybody else.

Personally I think PBS could go back to black and white and sock puppets. Who needs them?

Supply and demand. If the demand exists, let those demanding pay the freight. There is no divine right to public broadcasting.

Tennessee's PBS TV says it can go digital STATE WIDE with just $6.5M. Hubby who did a stint as a broadcast engineer for a PBS station in Evansville, IN says NO WAY can they go digital state wide for $6.5M. It would take that amount for just WKNO in Memphis to go digital!

Every day, public television serves more people more often than any other public or nonprofit organization in Minnesota.

Yes, but does anyone watch them?
