Mel Gibson, James Woods, and Arnie are the conservatives that come to mind, but believe it or not Sissy Spacek says she is a Libertarian.

Yeah start a thread called FReepers who won't watch the Hollywood idiots. Actually I'm probably going to watch a movie or clean my house. I don't get much into the Oscars I'm not a big movie goer anyway. The only movie I plan on seeing this year is Star Wars Episode 2 and probably Spiderman. The only movies I've gone to in the past 5 years has been Star Wars Episode 1 and Meet the Parents. I wait till movies come out on HBO and or DVD. I won't see movies with commie actors or commie themes, such as Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn.

Re; your post #14, sorta reminds me of when I was in grade school we used to sing at times

"Every party has a pooper that's why we invited you, party pooper..."

Truth be told, I probably won't be watching any of it. I can't remember the last time I set foot in a movie theatre.

If you would like I could start a spoilsports thread for all of you.

Some folks need to remember Rush's take on the 1st Amendment - the right to speak is not the same as the right to be listened to.

Yeah Mel Gibson is a great actor, Oh I also saw the Patriot so you can add that to the two other movies I've gone to over the last 5 years.

I saw Memento, and it is the most intense film I think I've ever seen. I'd love to see it again, on video, so I could keep going back the prior scene to figure things out.

Tom Wilkinson and Buscemi were freaking brilliant this year.

If Denzel and Russell split the vote Tom Wilkinson should win-he was that good. I didn't care much for Sissy Spacek in the film...but this is the loony left that votes.

Agreed....I would never watch this on my own, and I turned down an invitation at my sister's to watch (and get a free meal) because live threads on an an event like this are such a hoot!

It's like MST3K....nobody watches it for the movie. LOL!

She usually looks pretty good. Darn, I wish we got E! - I'd watch the Rivers commentary, even if I chose to forego the ceremony itself.

Indepentdent Film Channel has the replay of the Spirit Awards on tape as the 'anti Oscars' after the ceremony it is hilarious to watch on satellite.

The speeches are funny people say things because they are sure that no one is watching, like the Golden Globes used to be.

John Waters was hosting and he was really funny..
