Maybe the staffers who were willing to, ah, stretch the truth for a congressman will not be eager to do so for him now that he's unemployed.

Thanks for the post. I'm watching this case. I've never forgotten that Chandra Levy was a real person, the daughter of real people who miss her desperately and who deserve answers.

Another poster mentioned the other day about work Chandra had been doing in a prison that housed, IIRC, Tim McVeigh...I hope the GJ asks Condit a few open-ended questions about what he knows about that...

Exactly. Once the king's lack of clothes is evident, the willingness of the peons to put their neck on the chopping block for him vanishes....unless of course, they share in his guilt. Even then it still could become an every man for himself situation rather quickly.
It was amazing how many were willing to "honestly" admit Clinton's sins, very shortly AFTER he left office.
Ha-ha-ha, say "Good-bye!" Gary.

Gary, pack your woodchipper and get out.
It's time to leave Dodge!

Hm. Anyone care to lay odds on the chances that Condit will try to flee the country? Seriously, what more does he have to lose at this point?

But what would he live on? He's not a wealthy man, apparently, even though one would think 30 some years at the public trough would have lined his pockets handsomely.

The aides, ...are expected to be peppered with questions about Condit's alibi during April and May last year when ex-intern Chandra Levy went missing.

With the aides under oath, the unraveling starts here.

Well, what would he live on here in the U.S.? Who'll hire him? Would you take an order of fries from that man?

It almost sounds like they mean business this time around. I wonder what took this process so long. It appears that they might have been waiting until he was citizen Condit before proceeding.

Thanks for the ping, aristeides. There are several threads running and each seems to have just a bit more info. The Modesto Bee (www.modbee.com) has an article as well in this morning's edition.

Betty Jo, you raised some interesting questions on a previous thread that you would like the Grand Jury to address with Condit and Staff.

I don't know if you are aware of the fact that Burl Condit, cop brother of Gary, has now retired from the cop shop. That little tidbit was tucked away in one of the election loss articles earlier this month. The interesting thing re: Burl, is his retirement, drew no press coverage at all. Not the norm when a cop retires here in Modesto. Swept under the rug like Burl's part in the illegal Modesto Police Dept. Gun sale a couple of years ago. Seems a gun that Burl purchased in the illegal sale was used in a jewelry store robbery. DA Brazelton swept that one under the rug, just like he did Anne Marie Smith/Robinson/Judicial Watch Grand Jury petition last fall.

This soap opera just keeps getting better and better. Join us again when we continue the unending saga of "Corruption Sucks."

There are people in the growing community, the senior citizens community, veterans community and immigrant community here in the Central Valley who are still very fond of Condit and chances are he will be hired by any of these groups to be a lobbyist.
