Also one of the two best medical references on the physical death of Our Lord is the book “A Doctor at Calvary: The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ As Described by a Surgeon” by Pierre Barbet, this is at Amazon and other stores. The other one is “On the Physical Death of Jesus Christ” JAMA 1986;255:1455-1463. The letters to the Editor section in the next issue or two had extensive commentary (some of it of course negative). Finally, there is a VHS tape “How Jesus Died: The Final 18 Hourse” which is a discussion of the pathophysiology of His death.
