Mr Bush has refused to meet the Palestinian leader until he makes a public call in Arabic for the suicide bombings to end and to arrest those involved in the attacks.
If Arafat wanted a Palestinian state he would have done this. He wants just another increment in the destruction of Israel. He can't get it all at once, but he will try to get it a piece at a time. This is not "peace in our time".
