Any thread discussing Halle Berry should include at least one photgraph of her bending over Fred Flintstone's desk so that we Freepers might judge her, ummm, "abilities" for ourselves.

This year's Oscars were a slap at "halflings" who were shunned in the major categories.

Juia Roberts: Professional Yammerer.
That describes her well.

Happy to report I missed it entirely, except for a brief glimpse of The Human Whoopi Cushion when looking for the local news at 10. I gave up on Holly-bleeping-wood and its self-love fests years ago.
By the way, I admire your devotion to typing the entire article. (Copy-and-paste is permissable here. ;-)

Saw all the performances except Judi Dench. Berry deserved the award. She played a struggling woman who's husband was executed. She looks for work and raises a kid. Tough role and she pulled it off.
I disagee with Denzel's award. It was a slap at Crowe who has been acting a fool in public this year. The role of Nash was the movie and it was much more complex then Denzel's. Denzel got it for the shunning of Crowe and because he has had multiple nominations. He did better work in Malcom X and Hurricane.

The Oscars viewed in respect with these actions will be recognized as another affirmative action social program along with the Heisman Trophy.

I know how Ms. Jennings feels. I was a very big fan of Halle Berry. Not of anything recent but of "Queen". I thought she was wonderful and her race did not matter to me, her performance was great. It was a slap in my face when she got up on stage and made a big deal of race, and I will never forget it. A simple "Thank you, would have been nice. I was embarrassed just watching her.
I would think a person would want to win an award on "Merit" their acting ability, their accompishments, not their skin color. But what do I know, the woman has no self-respect nor shame, and the same goes for Julia Roberts. The both were an embarrassment.

I am very happy to report that I had no clue the Oscars were on (and no desire to watch them otherwise. I spent the night playing Project Gotham (X box) - awesome, baby!

This year's Oscar's subtle bigotry was embarassing. coupled with Ms. Julia Roberts' affected affection, the event set us back 50 years."I love my life!"

So, in 2002 when Denzel, Halle Berry, and Poitier win, with Whoopi Goldberg as host...we have bigotry.
What do we call a year such as 1997 when the winners, the host, the performers, and the special award winners were all white?
It's Hollywwod...why try and make sense of it?
