Enron May Build Memphis Plant

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Enron Corp. will build a $100 million power plant near Memphis if the troubled energy company can work through its Chapter 11 bankruptcy, a spokesman said Monday.

"We're still very early in the development process," Enron spokesman Eric Thode said from the company's headquarters in Houston, Texas.

Enron announced last year plans for a plant on 90 acres in Arlington before the company's finances collapsed and it filed for bankruptcy protection from its creditors.

I understand that Demron has a good turnaround guy at the helm. I bought some stock at $.27 cents a share for a long term hold. Thanks for the post WG....

You might want to get rid of that stock. A lot of us up here in CT want our money back one way or another. A death sentence would be justified for these boys of Enron.

Understood, however, a turnaround and saving the company is better than a pure liquidation. As to exacting a pound of flesh from the "boys of Enron", don't forget the Anderson, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Vinson etc. boys either. These "professionals" made it all possible....
