No offense taken. Rest assured we'll have more than twenty people there :-)
Kristinn and I had a long talk about this - if anything the number has been downplayed - trust us on this one - we will have numbers. That said, the most important thing is that we demonstrate our resolve in support of our country's war on terrorism and for her servicemen and women in harm's way. This is but one battle in a long war - it adds up - see
what FReepers have done to date - it really does make a difference.
It doesn't even take 20 FReepers to change the public opinion, if they are effective (and the DC FReepers are very effective.) Of course the more the better, but don't let a low turnout dissuade you from speaking out for what is right and against what is wrong.
The advantage that FReepers have over the leftists is that we do our homework, communicate nationwide, mobilize protests just about anywhere on short notice, use humor and civil discorse to win over the public, including effectively using the media to carry our message.
Of couse we can do better on improving each area and at integrating it all into an efficient and potent political weapon. But part of the appeal of FReeping is that we insist on having a good time and don't have aspirations of political grandeur.
Another grassroots group employing similar techniques check out Strategic Taskforce to Organize and Mobilize People (STOMP) started by House Majority Whip Tom "the Hammer" Delay.
I hope so because lastime I checked (no offence) no more then twenty freepers ever showup at any protest. Then you've missed a whole lotta FReeps, it would seem.
Not to worry tho, there'll be more than 20 of us on the 20th. Count on it!
See you there?
