A bus exploded Wednesday during rush hour near the northern city of Haifa, killing at least eight people and injuring many, police and emergency officials said. The explosion came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon vowed to continue his assault on Palestinian militants, in the wake of a Tuesday ambush that killed 13 Israeli soldiers.
