It rather appear that under the new multiculturalism and drive toward unlimited social pluralism only certain prescribed pluralism and cultures will be allowed under the new infinite freedom. War is peace, freedom is slavery, and some animals are more equal than others.

You send your kid to school.....they run him through a metal detector....they pat him down......they run a wand over him....and examine his clear backpack...sometime during the day they bring in the drug dog to check his locker...when he changes classes the video cameras watch him closely...at lunch a vice-principal orders him to remove his shirt because that vice-principal has perceived a political statement that he does not like on it...when he returns to school with a new shirt he finds that somebody is missing $5.00 and the school administration has determined that he is one of 10 possible thieves and so makes him and the others take their pants off and have their underwear checked...when the money is not found the suspects are all made to take a lie detector test...the school day is over but your kid has an FBLA meeting and finds when he arrives that he must pee in a cup while the vice-principal watches to make sure he doesn't cheat....about halfway through the FBLA meeting the vice-principal returns with the police and they arrest the kid because a teacher saw a butter knife in the floorboard of his car....while they are searching him they find an aspirin in his shirt pocket which unfortunately will extend his mandatory expulsion to a full year...next year, when he returns to school his peers will avoid him becaue he has been painted as a violent racist....his Civics teacher will wonder why he seems uninterested in learning about how wonderful it is to live in such a free country.
We wonder why our kids are cynical these days and what's wrong with a generation that has so much rage. All of the things in the post happen to kids all the time at school and the adults applaud because it is "keeping the kids safe". Is it really?

Sure is, but only because the people allow it. Take for instance this young man's shirt being banned...you will find many right here on FreeRepublic who will very vocally support that banning. Why? Because it doesn't matter what the kid thinks his shirt means, it only matters that they don't like it. Likewise, it doesn't matter if their kids are slaves, just that they are "safe".
To some its a battle between their political correctness and somebody elses rather than a battle against political correctness itself.

I think you are partially right. However, there is an important difference. Our culture was built around the constitution and vica versa. What we now have is a system of constant scrutiny and censorship conducted by a bunch of borderlin psychotics. I find no provision in the earlier areas of our constitution or culture for this. This is 60s countercultural crap that is being imposed upon the country.

So I guess the administration will tell black students they can't wear the green, red and black African heritage flag anymore? After all, fair is fair, and those shirts can be intimidating to some white kids.

Just how were the black students being harassed? The article doesn't say. It seems the mere presence of the flag is considered harassment.
"When you begin to create an environment of tension and using that flag as the rallying cry for what is being done, we will pull it," McLatchey said.
What rallying cry, Southern Heritage? What is being done, showing pride in one's Southern Heritage? This is PC bullsh!t.

Great Post Arkinsaw. I read this quote again:
."When you begin to create an environment of tension and using that flag as the rallying cry for what is being done, we will pull it," McLatchey said. After reading your post, it made me think, just WHO is creating the tension? Methinks the school administration.....Also, the rallying cry is all about political correctness (which is an oxymoron in itself) - the values of the public and school system have changed, not the Southrons who respect their flag.

Thanks for the ping. FWIW, Saturday I bought three more "Dixie Outfitters" shirts for myself and the girls.
They ended up in in- school detention when they refused to remove clothing with the Confederate flag on them. "
So do I. Kudos to them.
