The New York Earthquake and President Bush (Major repercussions ahead for U.S?)

In the book that John McTernan and I have written, “Israel: The Blessing or the Curse”, we identified 34 significant same day events when the United States pushed on Israel to give up her covenant land or made major public statements pertaining to the covenant land of Israel. These events included hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, major stock market corrections, tropical storms and other events. These were some of the largest and most significant in U.S. history.

Yesterday, as President Bush’s weekend radio address (included below) was about to be aired nationwide on the U.S. battle on terrorism and his vision of a solution for the Israeli-Palestinian situation a very rare 5.1 magnitude earthquake was felt from Buffalo, New York, to Boston, Massachusetts and Baltimore, Maryland. Interestingly, the epicenter was 50 miles from Saranac Lake where President Bush will be delivering an Earth Day message tomorrow, Monday, April 22, at 12:30 PM. (The address also came on the heals of U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft FBI terrorism warning to 1200 Northeastern banks that spread from Virginia to Maine. )

The 5.1 earthquake did not cause major property damage because of its remote epicenter but it could be considered another warning sign as the U.S. continues its direct involvement in the “land for peace” talks in Israel. In the past the intensity increases significantly when the U.S. firmly pressures Israel to comply; President Bush has stated his position pertaining to God’s covenant land but has not exerted pressure on Israel.

There were five large simultaneous events in 2002 from March 31 to October 2. They are as follows:

On March 31, a Chinese jet bumps into a U.S. recognizance plane forcing it to make an emergency landing, this occurred as Egypt‘s President Hosni Mubarek was arriving in Washington followed two days later by Jordan’s King Abdullah II. Their visit was an attempt to convince President Bush to become more active in the Middle East talks. The day after King Abdullah II left Washington the American crew was released.

On May 22, the day President Bush publicly endorsed the Mitchell Plan his Republican Party lost the majority in the Senate as Vermont Senator Jeffords announces his decision to leave the party. This has caused a legislative nightmare for the Republicans.

On June 8, CIA Director, George Tenet, convened a meeting in Ramallah between the Israelis and the Palestinians as Tropical Storm Allison, the largest rain producer in U.S. history, rains 28 inches in 24 hours in Houston, and 100 million cubic feet of rain throughout the U.S the next week.

On September 11, World Trade Center / Pentagon terror events occurred at the same time that the most compressive U.S. Middle East peace plan in history, was being completed to be shared with the Saudi Ambassador to the UN the next day in Washington, and given to the UN General Assembly twelve days later.

On October 2, President Bush declared that he was backing a Palestinian State. On the same day, the first Anthrax case in 25 years is contracted leading to a U.S. postal crisis that cost the U.S. government billions of dollars, loss of life and major disruption on Capitol Hill.

What is Next?

Today according to an Associated Press article the White House plans to stay the course and President Bush has charted his Middle East policy and is discouraging attempts by lawmakers to step into the conflict with legislation.

"The president has outlined a clear blueprint for the pathway to peace in the Middle East," and the administration has made progress. White House spokeswoman, Claire Buchan said. "We and the international community are focused on bringing the parties together."

In other words President Bush desires to be the main U.S. point man in the Israeli - Palestinian crisis. This will carry great weight with major potential repercussions if pressure is exerted on Israel.

As we go forward, based on past history, if President Bush decides to exert greater pressure on Israel to give up her covenant land then there will be major repercussions for the United States.

The big difference now compared to the past eleven years of U.S. involvement is the situation appears to have come to a head with no solution in sight. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered more than any other Israeli Prime Minister and that was turned down by Arafat. In reality there isn’t a current solution. So what is next?

The EU and the UN keep calling for peace monitors but the Bush Administration says only if both sides agree. If the United States wasn’t in place, things would get bad quickly in Israel.

We will be watching closely this Thursday when President Bush meets with the sponsor of the Saudi Plan, Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in Crawford, Texas.

Wow ! HEAVY , dude !!

By the way, does anyone know how to keep a moose from stealing cheese ?
It's been on my mind for a long time, but I've been kind of distracted by 911, the Mideast conflict, and worrying about whether Janet Reno really looks pretty in pink...

Matthew 10:16-18

"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles."

You know, it occurs to me that the Catholic Church is getting "delivered up to councils" lately...
