I haven't heard much of anything about Sam Donaldson's much touted radio show lately. Does anybody know if it is still on the air? Has anybody here even listened to it. If so, just how horrible was Sam's radio show?

Last summer there was a lot of buzz about Sam Donaldson's radio show and now....nothing.

Is Donaldson's show even being carried on any radio station anymore? Has anybody here even heard his radio show? If so, how badly did it suck? There sure was a lot of buzz about his radio show last summer and now.....nothing.

I hear it at night occasionally while driving home. It's on pretty late around or after midnight during the week. (AM-630 WMAL, Washington D.C.)

He was on a C-SPAN panel awhile back and when the subject of talk radio came up he kinda shrugged and said something like, "It's not that easy. I know, I tried." There was a smattering of laughter and that was it.
I thought his "show" was a computer-access show, not radio.

We get it on 740 AM in Houston, TX, in the mornings. I listen while I am out-and-about in the car.
He takes calls (usually on one specific topic), and does a good job interacting with the callers, which are screened. There's not much to offend anyone. Sort of lukewarm.

There was a smattering of laughter and that was it. Maybe he thought he would be a liberal version of Rush. Like you said, Sam. "It's not that easy."

Here is the WMAL link, http://www.wmal.com/showdj.asp?DJID=10005 Sam is on a few little stations scattered around the country. Interestingly, he is not currently promoted by his network, ABC radio. Looks to me that they are indulging his vanity project.

I don't see any "Listen Live" buttons on the WMAL site so I guess we can't listen in from the Net. This all started with some union who bitched that their members were getting screwed because we had the ability to hear streaming audio of the radio shows. Now few radio shows are available via the Web. This SUCKS!!!

"Does he take phone calls on the air? Just how boring is his show?" Yes, he does take calls during the show. How boring is it?
Well, I listen to the show when the reception is bad for all the other stations.
Once in a great while it's interesting. Donaldson tries to pose as a fair, balanced host, but he just can't seem to keep that liberalism from seeping through.

No, The Thunderbirds' hair is much more realistic.
