Thousands Rally In Downtown Montreal For Palestine

Several thousand pro-Palestinian protesters gathered downtown today. They rallied in front of the Israeli Consulate at the corner of Peel and Rene Levesque before marching to complexe Guy Favreau. The demonstration was organized by the Coalition for Justice and Peace in Palestine. They called for the withdrawl of Israeli forces from all Palestinian territories, and for a UN peacekeeping force to be sent in to protect civilians.

Having worked in the software industry, I find that a very large number of H1B visa holders are Canadian of Muslim decent. How infested is Canada with Muslims? Is it as bad as it looks to me?

Actually I'd say that today was about half-Muslim and half-Socialist. Right in the middle of the procession was a giant banner reading "Quebec Socialist Federation" or something like that. Also, there were a bunch of whacko hippies offering "Hugs for Peace". One old hag offered me one but I told her to back off and not blow herself up. I don't need that kind of stress, not with the Habs in the playoffs anyway.

Why should we be surprised. The French-speaking province of Quebec in which Montreal is located has a long, robust tradition of anti-semitism.

These insular xenophobes (try and put up an English-language sign over your store in Montreal and see what happens) would lend their support to a pack of wild jackals if they were convinced the jackals were anti-Jewish in any way.
