Since we suffer from acute political "taxonomitis" in America--a reflexive condition that compels us to label people as right- or left-wing, or liberal, conservative, fascist and so forth, without much concession to shade or nuance--we've all been flummoxed by the murder of Pim Fortuyn.

America, by contrast, prides itself on a classlessness that helps erode cultural frontiers.

Yep, and that's a big problem here. Defining culture down. Think cultural hero Eminem. Think Johnny Jihad in one of his incarnations pretending to be black. Think masses of white suburban kids imitating the lowest of the lowest inner-city habits and traits. At this rate we'll pretty soon elect to the highest office in the land some half witted white trash hustler spouting cliched banalities and call him the smartest of all Presidents. Oh wait, never mind!

The classing of Pim Fortuyn as "right-wing" shows that multiculturalism rather than socialism is now the dominant ideal of the "left". (The "Right" has always been defined in terms of opposition to the "Left"--the only common feature between American Republicans, European Christian Democrats, fascists, and libertarians.)
