I just saw that idiot Gephardt on Fox. My only question is this: if he knew (like all other senators) of a general warning, why didn't he warn the people in the WTC? Why didn't Shelby?

Because NO ONE could have foreseen the incomprehensible acts of that day. If Gephardt had a crystal ball, maybe he could have.

His press conference just reaffirms to me that the dems are grasping at straws. they have no answer to Bush's approval ratings.

If blame can be placed on Bush for 911, then it can be placed squarely on Dick Gephardt as well.

AMEN! I hope to high Heaven someone calls them on this. If they blame Bush, they are equally to blame.

I should have read this message before posting mine about the crystal ball. It seems that we think alike. MamaB

I disagree, I think it all goes further back than 2001. I think the hearings should focus on information that the CLINTON administration received and didn't act upon. I believe they were told that there was the possiblity of commercial planes being used to target buildings.

Mansoor Ijaz, who is a consultant on FoxNewsNetwork has reported on this many times.

If blame can be placed on Bush for 911, then it can be placed squarely on Dick Gephardt as well.

And blamed on Jim Jeffords, too.

If he hadn't defected the Republicans would still have been in charge of the Senate's Intelligence Committee.

A little continuity might have helped. After all if you check SENATE SELECT COMMITTEE ON INTELLIGENCE KICKS OFF 2000 WITH WORLD THREAT HEARING

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-AL) and newly appointed Committee Vice Chairman Richard Bryan (D-NV), announced today that the Committee will begin the second session of the 106th Congress with its annual World Threat Assessment to be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2000.

Jeffords switched parties and the Democrats took over the Senate.

BTW this press release can not be linked to from the Intelligence committee's web page of links to press releases. For some reason the link there leads to the wrong press release.
