You should see what happens to a tufted titmouse (Parus bicolor), when they retire and move south...

It becomes a Saggy Titmouse (Parus kneebikini)

Other thread already confirms "Egyptian Nationals" and "just returned from Egypt". Now that's comforting!

Were the flock O' Seagulls spitting up blood reported by the local media?

What's more lethal, cyanide or Mexican water?

Reminds me of my daughter's last trip to Can Cun, when her health-nut friends ate mostly salads with their choice of mixed drinks. Hard to say whether it was the lettuce washed in Mexican water, or the ice in their drinks, but they came back in a heap of misery.

That is true. Also cyanide poisoning looks like a heart attack.

I don't know. The better half was having breakfast at a oceanside hotel somewhere between Ensenada and San Diego on the Pacific side of Baja and said they were flying over spitting out blood, she could see it on the sidewalks. Apparantly not just an isolated seagull. but perhaps an isolated area. I wouldn't make too much out of it unless other reports of maladies surface in the area.

LA Times had some articles about a beach with a bacteria outbreak yesterday, some surmise associated with a wastewater treatment plant effluent into the ocean, perhaps it drifted down south.
