Sitting on the couch watching TV while eating reduces flexibility. ......

So that's it.....

"...winning and money are more important to players, management, and fans, than winning fairly."

Not only winning, the leauge has been interested in increasing offensive production ever since the player strike in the early seventies. Lowering of the mound, shortened fences, the new baseballs, and the tolerance of steroids are all consistant with that goal. The league is tougher on pitchers that scuff the baseball than those batters useing steroids

Wasn't Hank Aaron pretty much a regular sized guy?...about 5'11 -175 or so

Yes he was, but he played in a Little league park. I grew up in Baltimore and watched Davy Johnson hit 15 homers a year for maybe 10 years. His first year in Atlanta after being traded he hit 42 home runs. Here's a mickey mantle quote.."if I played in Atlanta I would have hit 1000 home runs. My center field was 461 feet."

So, you've exaggerated like crazy, in order to make your case. Then you unmake your case, by saying that too much size "reduces flexibility."

So, according to you logic, Bonds should be hitting FEWER home runs, not more.

Just look at photos, he's put on 25 pounds. Bonds has always been a great homerun hitter. Having lived in gyms for 20 years, I can assure you steriods reduces flexibility, I've seen it on countless guys. This is not an if A than B concerning Bonds. Bonds has the best eye in baseball, if its near the zone its out of the park, whether he's 180 pounds or 240. There are some abusers of roids in MLB, but Canseco is way off and probably cost himself a Hall of Fame shot.

new baseballs ....even FLOAT now

Really?

As a kid playing sandlot, our field had a pond in right field and a "ponder" was a ground rule double, while both teams searched for the ball.

You're also looking at the difference between age 27 and age 38...

Hooray! I'm not getting fat, I've just been taking steroids without knowing it. Here that honey? I'm bulking up!

First of all, Bonds is only listed at 210 now (and he's only 6'2," which is not big for today. A few years ago, he played at 195

Bonds is listed at 228, that makes 33 pounds. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/players/1786/ No applause please.

Thanks for the correction re Bonds' weight -- I should have believed my lyin' eyes. But if, as you say, steroids reduce flexibility, it wouldn't matter how good Bonds' eyes were.

P.S. Canseco cost himself a Hall of Fame slot a long time ago. He's a classic underachiever, in that he was on the way to 500 home runs, etc., but got sidetracked by injuries and his own ego.

He's also 13-14 years older. I don't suspect steriods in his case. Just maturity.
