Phoenix Mayor seeks probe into parking tickets

PHOENIX - At the request of Phoenix Mayor Skip Rimsza, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office will look into claims that Phoenix erases the names of elected officials from the list of unpaid parking tickets.

In a letter sent Monday to County Attorney Rick Romley, Rimsza said that Phoenix doesn't alter public records before giving them to the media and that the only way to clear any confusion is for Romley to investigate.

The request came after state Sen. Scott Bundgaard told a Valley television station that Phoenix deletes the names of elected officials from the unpaid ticket list before making it public, according to Rimsza's letter.

Rimsza called those claims "politically motivated." Bundgaard, a Glendale Republican, is on the list of people who owe Phoenix parking fines, Rimsza's letter said.

I saw Skippy on tv lastnight and he looked as though he got his hands stuck in the cookie jar. Seems like Skippy has an ax to grind with Bundgaard. I like Scott. He's pro 2nd Ammed., for school choice, anti-abortion, and tries to get our taxes lowered. The democrats on his committee won't allow these items to get out of committee.
