The body that was found earlier today was IDed as Chandra Levy, according to the AP.

Makes me wonder why her body wasn't discovered before now, especially with her computer records showing that she had visited that park site before she left her apartment for the last time. Doesn't sound like a thorough search was done or someone moved the body there later.

My guess is that "they" or "he/she" waited until the police searched that area last year and then they disposed of the body. Wonder where they put her until now?

That was my understanding also. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't find this poor girls remains, what with the park web site being on her computer. It would seem that either she wasn't there, or they didn't want to find her.

DC police earlier said that they had thoroughly searched the park last year, that it took months to do so because of its size and dense woods. Maybe the body was moved there later? Or maybe they didn't search as well as they thought. Anyway, Fox News is saying that the jogger who found the body was well off the beaten path, looking for turtles with his dog. His dog apparently smelled something and started digging. The body was found in a densely wooded area, on a steep incline. FWIW.

This DC Chief is an arrogant bastard who has no clue. He seems to not get the fact that Chandra's body layed there for a year because his police department didn't find her. He is more concerned with his renewed celebrity status.
