Police said the area where the remains were found was not searched with dogs, but police recruits had been through the area on foot last year as part of a 1,700-acre sweep of the park.

The Post is reporting that Assistant Chief Gainer said that that particular slope was not searched by the police recruits. Search grids came from the East and the West and about 100 yards between the two groups was not searched, and that was where she was found, on that steep incline. He said that area was inconsistent with where a body might be found because there is no path or trail nearby. Duh! for the DC Police.

You mean somebody might deliberately hide a body off the trail ... in an inaccessible spot? Way to go, Sherlock!

What idiots the DC police. They don't look in that area because there is no path or trail.
What about the fact that I heard on the news there was an area big enough for a car to drive into?
Just perfect for dumping a body.

A zillion people go along the paths, trails, and roads of Rock Creek Park every day. The place where it would make sense to concentrate a search is away from the paths, trails, roads and parking lots - but no, not the D.C. police.
