I don't believe Chandra had a chance to be headed home. Whoever lured her out of her apartment and took her to Rock Creek Park or whatever the first distanation was, did it with the intention that Chandra would never return.

But didn't the dogs [when they were first trying to track Chandra's whereabouts] lose the scenet at the end of the sidewalk? Indicating she had gotten into a vehicle at that point?
