The parents in Kalifornia should be up in arms

But they are not. That is because Kalifornistan seceded from the United States years ago and is now a seperate country.

If needed and wanted in that capacity, I'll make an offer someday when the grandchildren come -- I should be ready by then.

Interesting note: a good friend of mine in CA (in different circumstances than me) has pagan (literally) religious views and homeschools her three. Her reasons are that the government schools do a terrible job of teaching the important subjects, they cause children to hate learning, the curriculum and approach is "one-size-fits-all," and there are gangs in her area. Sound familiar?

Even non-Christians see the problems.

I meant if what was taught was dealing with anything Christian, conservative, southern, decent, sensible, heterosexual....it is pretty much taboo. In case you haven't noticed, there is a tremendous PC hostility towards southern history or pride, which just furthur reveals their ignorance and nastiness.

Very familiar. Sounds like most of my reasons, except I'm not a pagan nor are there gangs in my area. But you're right....there's a huge non-Christian homeschooling population but the media likes to portray all of us as ultra right-wing religious loonies.

Sheesh. I'd love to see how kids would respond to that.

Are we allowed to insult them back?

God Bless,

How do you teach "Southern"?

Here's a start:

Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton.
Old times there are not forgotten
Look away, look away, look away, Dixieland
....
