Believing it is possible she took a taxi into the park to meet someone she knew, detectives plan to interview scores of taxi drivers in the coming days, sources said.

Now that it has been over 55 weeks, we can be sure no one will remember anything. Time to do interviews.

Exactly. Since Chandra had no means of transportation, this couldn't possibly have just dawned on them.

IIRC, they did interview cab drivers a year ago. However, the question is why wasn't this ring identified a year ago? If the ring or bracelet is found in a pawn shop, the trail will be cold...I don't know if photographs or driver's licenses are mandatory at pawn shops in the D.C. area or not.

How could she take a taxi? Her money, credit cards, etc were found in her apartment.

Thats the part that got me too. NOW after all this time, NOW, they are going to interview taxidrivers & others about her. She left a map on her computer for them to follow & they couldn't even do that right. What a bunch of clowns. I think if I had lived in DC, even I could have found her, me & my Jack Russell Terriers.

I was a cab driver for over seven years. We could usually remember every fare for about two – three weeks. If something stood out it could be for as long as a couple months. This long? She could have left a great tip, done a striptease, and been knock-out beautiful, and no one would have a reliable memory of her.
