MUZAFFARABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Citing fears of Indian airstrikes, Pakistan imposed a blackout in the capital of its portion of Kashmir on Friday and began moving troops from the Afghan frontier to its border with India.

The moves come amid growing international fears of war between the nuclear-armed south Asian rivals. Both nations stepped up their preparations for a possible conflict over the Himalayan territory that each has claimed since independence from Britain in 1947.

I know Kashmir has been a problem for years, but does anyone find the timing of this conflict a bit odd, considering the US war on terror? Seems to me Bin Laden's boys are pulling the strings in Kashmir and want this nuclear exchange to happen.

I wouldn't get too worried, I think Pakistan is just being extra careful tonight.

I doubt if there will actually be any airstrikes though.

Theres only one entity pulls the strings of the militants, thats the Pakistani ISI.
They fund, support, arm, supply, train and direct the militants.

But has the Pak ISI long been suspected as Bin Laden sympathizers?

In a part of the world where so many are prone to behave like barbarians and human life seems almost worthless at times, it wouldn't surprise me if they start lobbing nukes.

If it happens, I hope we have contingencies to fire off a few of our own in the area of the Afghan/Paki border to take care of some of our business.

Oh I think so, yes. But ISI-sponsored terror has been going on long before 9/11. It would a little simplistic to think that the whole thing is being masterminded by OBL, but no doubt he has a part in it.

My guess is that Rummy & Co. have carefully drawn plans to seize the Paks' nuclear stockpiles ourselves if things start looking dicey. What is Delta Force for if not for situations like that?

May God help us all.

Easier said than done. From what I've heard over the past few weeks, Pakistan may have deployed nuke-tipped IRBMS into forward areas and are reported to be moving them to different locations every night as part of a 'shell-game'.

I doubt there will be a nuclear war or a war at all....Pak has done some things just today to try to lower tensions.

U.S. officials believe al Qaeda members may be trying to foment conflict between India and Pakistan to distract the Pakistani government from pursuing the terrorist network.

Either that or the U.S. is fomenting this conflict so it has an excuse to stop going after al Qaeda and OBL now that the pipeline can go ahead.

Yes, I agree you with, but I still had to post this. This is the first time that we've heard of blackouts in cities, it's a new development.

They'll want it just until it happens..these Islamasists have no idea yet to the actual destruction from a nuclear exchange they are used to hit and run attacks but can't imagine the destruction to their fellow muslims that this will bring about..as to a second strike against whomever srtikes first with nukes..i doubt the nukes they have could withstand the circuit frying EMP(electro-magnetic pulse) that they rely on to launch a second strike.

He most certainly can. The prayers of Christians on Earth are continuously offered up to God by the saints and angels.
And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. -- [Rev 5:8]

Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand. -- [Rev. 8:3-4]

God is a God of the living, not of the dead. St. Thomas and the other saints are alive in Heaven and, through the power of God, hears our prayers. As St. Augustine said,
"Neither are the souls of the pious dead separated from the Church which even now is the kingdom of Christ. Otherwise there would be no remembrance of them at the altar of God in the communication of the Body of Christ" (The City of God 20:9:2 [A.D. 419]).

Have you suddenly become "the authority" on whether people in heaven can hear us or not?
