Lightning from a Friday afternoon thunderstorm in Burlington shattered a sandstone cross atop a building at the Trinity College campus. The strike sent large chunks toppling to the pavement and small bits flying.

No one was hurt.

Witnesses described seeing a bright flash of light followed by a booming explosion near Mann Hall shortly after the thundershower rolled through about 1:30 p.m.

This college went out of business a couple of years ago due to lack of interest in a woman's Catholic college that promoted homosexuality and liberation theology. They were actually teaching the young ladies to say the trinity as "The Creator, the Savior and the Everlasting Redeemer." Sickening.

Kieslich said. "It was just drawn to the highest point. I'd hate to think it was symbolic."

Think again sister.

"That's just tongue-in-cheek"

Boy, does that ever beg for a punchline.

You crack me up

That's where I assumed the tongue was as well. Maybe "cheek" is a euphemism.

too bad the lightning bolt came from a cloud. It would have been much better from a clear sky, with lots of witnesses. Oh, well, God does have a sense of humor. Or lots of us would be toast. I always carry a jelly packet in my pocket just in case. Ps 18:46

That being the case, why is there still a resident college president on campus?

Apart from the obvious, the timing is interesting as well. Dare I speculate of "Almighty Dittos" to Hugh Hewitt? http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=27769

Sorry, Neighbor...but I think you are off base with this charge.

You need to present more fact and less opinion.

Of course, when natural disasters are visited upon the religiously righteous, it's God will.

When I lived in New Jersey, a lightening bolt struck a Christian fundamentalist church.

So what? S**t happens. There doesn't necessarily have to be a reason for why it happens.

No doubt, it makes some of you feel better to think God would inflict pain on people you disagree with. But your feelings have no bearing on causation.
